This innovative approach uses MIDI files to tell each instrument how to move and 'play' the notes from the digitally synthesized soundtrack. After the musical track is finalized, computers spend hundreds of hours generating the still images to be shown in sequence, just like a movie. The final result is an audio-visual feast where the intricately detailed 'performance artifacts' seem to create the music right before your eyes. Perhaps the 'Mighty Wurlitzer' might have evolved to something similar to these instruments in time.
