German Candle Machine Facts and Tips:
This candle system, a German concept, offers a new approach in separating the wick from the wax. The resulting flame never burns the wick. The flame will produce enough heat to allow the wax balls to melt and will continue to burn using this liquefied wax. The wick is not consumed in the burning process.
With 24 years from concept and initial breakthroughs to final product designs, this revolutionary technology and the manufacturers respect for the environment allowed these German 'Candle Machine' candlesticks to garner multiple awards on the international market in 1997.
Flame, Foundry and Forge is proud to be one of the first retailers in the United States for this innovative, elegant candle 'machine' line.
How to use this system:
1-Insert the wide side of the wick into the holder first. Make sure it reaches the bottom. (You must insert the widest end of the wick!)
2-Depending on the style, position the wax balls so they are seated on the predefined areas, or resting on the ball ramp. Use one wax ball for each 60-75 minutes of desired burn time. More balls can be added later for extend use.
3-Start the system using a lighter (no matches! Wand or 'stick' lighters work best.). Never touch the wick after the first use. The fiberglass wick is very fragile after the first use. If you don't touch it, it should be able to burn a minimum of 250 wax balls. The first time it is lit it may take up to 30 seconds to melt enough wax to continue to burn. This is also true on relighting if it is allowed to run out of wax.
4-When you see wax near the top of the reservoir don't add more wax balls. Never overcharge the candlestick.
5-Always use the specially formulated wax ball refills available from Flame, Foundry and Forge. The patented glass fiber wick doesn't support other kinds of wax.
6-You can change the wick only when the wax is liquefied or when the reservoir is empty.
7-Take care not to put your candle machine in a drafty area. Do not let the flame come in direct contact with the wax balls. They may melt too rapidly and overflow the reservoir.
8 - Tips for longer wick life:
a) Never let the candle 'machine' run out of wax, as this will cause the wick to overheat and reduce its life greatly.
b) Always blow out the candle, Never Touch The Wick!
c) Always use a gas powered lighter, and never use matches or other burning items that may drop any debris into the reservoir or wick area.
d) Never touch the wick once it has been used.
e) Never touch the wick once it has been used. Really. This is important.
